Description
- The Column is one width of cloth, seamed at the sides and gathered at nothing. It falls from the shoulder in a single line and moves as one piece.
- The linen is heavy enough to hang and open enough to breathe, which is the whole point of it.

The making of it
One length of cloth
We set ourselves a constraint: make an evening dress from a single fabric width with no darts, no zip and no lining. Four samples later we arrived at the shoulder tie, which lets one pattern fit a range of bodies and takes the dress from the beach to the table.
