The story
Things that improve with handling
We began commissioning objects because we kept being asked where ours came from. The brief we give is short: make it so it can be repaired, and let it show its age.
Vegetable-tanned leather darkens. Ash glaze pools unevenly. Brushed cashmere flattens where it is worn most. None of these are faults, and all of them are the reason to own the object rather than its replacement.
Each maker is credited on the product page. We buy in small quantities and restock when they are ready, not when the calendar says so.
